About the articles. Once there was a funny situation. I was asked by an American what was my biggest problem in English. Of course I answered "Articles!". He looked at me and said nothing. Some minutes passed with no word pronounced. Then I realized that he couldn't figure out what I was talking about. I was forced to give that American the definition of such a grammar phenomenon as "articles" and rules of using them
That's not about me. I'm not afraid to forget a word. We don't know all Russian words, do we? But spelling... And grammar... It's all our school system to be blamed:)

When my husband asks me something like:"What's the Russian for "bla-bla" after reading an American site devoted to building rockets with atomic engines, I feel ashamed if I don't know that word. But then I realize that I am not a dictionary to remember all words I've ever seen And we are not English reference books too
There is a special and quite useful forum for people who want to master their English
www.fluent-english.r... There are many people from all over Russia and former USSR discussing different topics in English and some native speakers correcting mistakes.
The only bad thing about this forum is that it is used via e-mail.
